Questions to ask moving companies ….
Taking the time to choose the right company for your move is the first step to a successful move. Before you do anything else, ask three friends or co-workers who they have used. Word of mouth recommendations are priceless. When you have a list of two or three companies, the following questions should be asked:
What are your rates? What specifically is included in that rate? What other type fees are charged? Do you charge a deposit? What forms of payment to you accept? Do you provide free estimates? (Moving companies, like most businesses, are fairly competitive and the rates should be similar. If a rate is very low or very high, you should be weary and move on to the next company.)
Are you licensed and insured? (Florida movers are required to have an IM Number – this insures they possess all the proper insurance and licensing to operate in the State of Florida)
Are your employees professionally trained? Do you have full-time employees? Do you use your own trucks and equipment?
What is your damage policy? What is your inclement weather policy? Cancellation policy?
By the time you have asked all these questions, you should have a pretty good feel about how the company operates and if they are the right mover for your job.
